Unfollow Tracker: Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Unfollow Tracker is a browser extension that shows you who unfollowed you on X (x.com) and whether accounts that left were unfollowed, deleted, deactivated, or suspended.
What the extension accesses
- Your x.com session cookies (
ct0andtwid), read through the browser’s cookies API. These let the extension call x.com’s own API as you, the same way the website does when you are logged in. - Your follower list, the accounts you follow, and public profile details (handle, display name, avatar, follower and following counts, bio) for those accounts, fetched from x.com.
Where your data goes
Nowhere. Everything the extension reads is processed and stored on your own device using the browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local). The extension runs no server, contacts no third party, and includes no analytics or tracking. The only network requests it makes are to x.com, to fetch your own follower data.
What is stored locally
- Snapshots of your followers and the accounts you follow.
- A log of changes between snapshots.
- Cached public profile details so past entries still show names and avatars.
This data stays in your browser. Uninstalling the extension removes it. You can also clear it at any time from the browser’s extension settings.
What is not collected
- No data is sent off your device.
- No personal information is shared or sold.
- No advertising or usage tracking of any kind.
